PREMIUM Workshop: Neurodiversity at Work

  • Different Brains, Better Workplaces

    Why can one person thrive with a clear structure while another does their best work with more freedom? Why can the same meeting leave one person energised and another completely overwhelmed? And why do some people find it easy to switch between tasks, while others do their best work when they can focus deeply on one thing?

    There is no single “right” way to think, focus, communicate, learn, or work.

    Neurodiversity describes the natural variation in how human brains function. In workplaces and teams, however, we often encounter expectations about how people should communicate, concentrate, organise themselves or collaborate. When those expectations do not match how someone works best, it can create challenges for individuals and for the teams around them.

    In this workshop, we will explore what neurodiversity looks like in practice. You will discover how different neurocognitive profiles can influence communication, collaboration, and performance, and what can help different people do their best work.

    You will:

    • Gain a practical, evidence-informed understanding of neurodiversity;
    • Explore how neurodivergence can influence communication, focus, teamwork and performance;
    • Understand challenges such as masking and mismatches between individual needs and workplace expectations;
    • Reflect on your own needs, strengths, and ways of working;
    • Learn practical strategies for working effectively in neurodiverse teams.

    Whether you identify as neurodivergent or simply want to understand and work better with different people, this workshop will help you build a more inclusive and effective way of working.

    Please note that this workshop is one of the electives PREMIUM offers. Attend a minimum of 3 of the elective workshops.

  • You don't have to be neurodivergent to benefit from understanding neurodiversity. In PREMIUM, you will work closely with people who may think, communicate, focus and organise themselves very differently from you. What looks like disengagement, inflexibility, poor organisation or unusual communication from one perspective may have a very different explanation. Understanding these differences can help you collaborate more effectively, recognise what people need to perform at their best, and make better use of the strengths that different people bring to a team.
