Excellence Education

To promote the quality of education and fulfill an integral part of its vision on education, Maastricht University has developed a range of excellence programmes for ambitious, motivated, high-performing students. At EDLAB we further develop, implement, and centrally coordinate these programmes.

More specifically, we facilitate a challenging (interdisciplinary) learning environment in which students of demonstrated quality are offered extracurricular opportunities. Accordingly, we provide them with a chance to develop their talents, increase their knowledge, strengthen their resume, and get prepared for the job market.

  • Honours+ (2nd year Bachelor)

    Honours+ is UM’s excellence programme for 2nd year Bachelor students participating in the Faculty Honours Programmes. With a focus on developing academic skills, expanding knowledge beyond the scope of the curriculum, as well as creating a UM honours community, Honours+ aims to provide a common core for all Honours students.

    MaRBLe (3rd year Bachelor)

    The Maastricht Research-Based Learning excellence programme allows 3rd year bachelor’s students at all UM faculties to gain hands-on experience with academic research. 

    Under the guidance of an experienced UM researcher students set up and conduct their own scientific study.

    PREMIUM is UM’s Honours programme for high-performing and motivated master’s students. With a focus on project-based working and teamwork, as well as personal (professional) development, PREMIUM bridges the gap between study and career.
