PREMIUM Workshop: The Culture Gap; Mastering Collaboration Across Cultures

You know how to work in a team. But do you know how to work effectively with people whose ideas about communication, trust, feedback, leadership and decision-making are fundamentally different from yours?
In PREMIUM, you are already experiencing what it means to work in a diverse, international team. But cultural differences don't always look like cultural differences. Why does one teammate seem overly direct while another avoids giving critical feedback? Why does someone expect a decision to be made immediately while someone else wants everyone to reach consensus first? And how might your communication style be interpreted by someone who doesn't share your assumptions?
This workshop takes you beyond simply being "open to different cultures". You'll explore how cultural backgrounds, habits and assumptions influence the way people communicate and collaborate, while reflecting on your own preferences and how they affect others.
You'll also develop practical strategies for recognising and bridging cultural differences respectfully, helping you navigate misunderstandings, build trust and collaborate more effectively.
And this matters far beyond PREMIUM. Your future workplace will almost certainly bring you into contact with people who don't communicate, think or work exactly like you do. Intercultural competence is therefore not just about being a good global citizen. It's a professional skill that can directly influence how effectively you build relationships, resolve differences and get things done.
What will you take away?
- Insight into common cultural differences in communication, teamwork and leadership
- Greater awareness of your own cultural preferences and how they may be perceived by others
- Practical strategies for navigating misunderstandings and communicating across cultural differences
- Greater confidence in working with diverse colleagues, clients and stakeholders
You don't need to become someone else to work across cultures. You need to understand what happens when your way of working meets someone else's.
Please note that this workshop is one of the electives PREMIUM offers. Attend a minimum of 3 of the elective workshops.
