    The Project:

Have you ever checked your breasts?

A simple self-check can help you become familiar with your body and recognise changes that may need medical attention. Yet not everyone has equal access to the knowledge, confidence, and support needed to take charge of their breast health.

Breast cancer affects millions of people worldwide, but gaps in health literacy mean that some people face greater barriers to understanding their bodies, recognising warning signs, and seeking timely care. Project Busted is a nonprofit initiative founded by recently graduated medical doctors Eva and Laura to make breast health education more accessible, engaging, and inclusive, helping people build the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions about their health.

Through interactive workshops and collaborations with student organisations, local artists, and communities, Project Busted makes breast health education approachable and helps break the taboos surrounding the topic.

Now, the challenge is to reach beyond university communities and connect with people who may have fewer opportunities to access reliable health information. How can we make breast health education accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or health literacy?

As part of a small, passionate team, you will explore creative workshop formats, new topics related to women's health and innovative approaches to peer-to-peer education. You will help develop sustainable strategies and community partnerships that enable Project Busted to reach underserved groups, strengthen health literacy, and contribute to reducing health inequalities.

We are looking for students from diverse academic backgrounds who bring creativity, curiosity, and fresh perspectives. Whether your interests lie in health, communication, education, social inequality, community engagement, or entrepreneurship, this is an opportunity to turn ideas into practical initiatives with real social impact.

Help us make breast health knowledge accessible to all and take a step towards more equitable healthcare.

P.S. Have you checked your breasts this month?

  • The Client:

Project Busted is a nonprofit initiative dedicated to improving female health awareness, specifically breast cancer, through education, early detection, creativity, and self-check empowerment. Founded four years ago by recently graduated medical doctors Eva and Laura, the project was created to address the widespread knowledge gap surrounding breast health. As trained educators and members of the World Breast Alliance, led by Know Your Lemons, Busted organizes interactive workshops, collaborating with student organisations and local artists, and engaging communities through social media. From university campuses in Maastricht to refugee centres and international workshops across Europe, Africa, and Asia, Project Busted is committed to making life-saving breast health education accessible to all.

We started this project together as students out of passion for the topic of breast cancer and female health. We are both very involved in this project and therefore want to remain an active part in this project execution. We really love working with students that are just as enthusiastic about these topics as we are!
