PREMIUM Project 2026-2027: Triatlon Vlaanderen

Develop a data-driven growth strategy for Triatlon Vlaanderen that unlocks the commercial value of its 22,000-strong community, transforming traditional sponsorships into measurable partnerships while expanding digital engagement and identifying innovative, sustainable revenue models.

  • Triathlon Vlaanderen

    The Project:

    Shape the future of triathlon through data, community, and innovation

    Imagine having the power to transform a 22,000-strong sports community into a thriving, data-driven ecosystem. Triatlon Vlaanderen, the official governing body for triathlon and multisport in Flanders, is at an exciting inflection point.

    Every year, we support more than 100 events, connect 9,000 affiliated members, and engage 13,000 additional athletes hungry for meaningful community experiences. Yet we are only scratching the surface of what is possible.

    Our community represents enormous untapped potential. We have passionate athletes, engaged participants, and proven event infrastructure, but we are not fully leveraging these assets.

    How do we translate a vibrant, active community into measurable value? How do we build data-driven partnerships that create win-win outcomes for athletes, sponsors, and the federation? How can we evolve from a traditional sports federation into a dynamic, digitally-native community organization?

    This is where we need your help!

    • Design next-generation partnership models that move beyond logos and event branding to create measurable value.
    • Build the blueprint for a digital ecosystem that keeps 22,000+ athletes engaged, connected, and invested.
    • Transform athlete participation patterns and engagement metrics into compelling insights and actionable business models.
    • Explore new revenue streams (premium memberships, digital products, exclusive events) grounded in real community needs.

    The solutions your team develops will directly influence how Triatlon Vlaanderen operates, grows, and serves its community for years to come. This is not a hypothetical exercise but an opportunity to leave your mark on a real organization and a dynamic sport.

    If you are energized by working with passionate sports professionals and a vibrant community of athletes and are ready to own meaningful challenges and deliver solutions that matter, then this is a project for you!

  • The Client:

    Triatlon Vlaanderen stands at a pivotal moment in its development. Each year, the federation supports more than 100 events, brings together 9,000 affiliated members, and reaches an additional 13,000 occasional athletes who participated in at least one race in 2025. Together, they form a large, engaged, and relatively affluent sports community.

    Yet, the full potential of this community remains underutilized. The current scale of the organization is not reflected to the same extent in:

    • strong and long-term commercial partnerships;
    • a digital reach that matches the size of the community;
    • a sufficiently diversified and future-proof revenue model.

    At the same time, the expectations of athletes, partners, and stakeholders are evolving rapidly. Personalization, digital services, community engagement, and data-driven decision-making are becoming increasingly important to remain relevant and achieve sustainable growth.
    For this reason, Triatlon Vlaanderen aims to evolve from a traditional sports federation into a data-driven community organization—one that better understands, connects, and serves its members, participants, clubs, event organizers, and partners while creating lasting value for all stakeholders.

    This isn't just a case study—it's a real-world sandbox where your ideas directly shape the future of endurance sports. You'll work alongside experienced professionals and gain hands-on exposure to everything from sponsorship strategy and digital ecosystem building to community engagement and data analytics. You'll see your recommendations tested, refined, and implemented.
