PREMIUM Project 2026-2027: Parents4Parents

Research what support modern parents need and design a practical, innovative way to help them build their own village of support, online or offline.

    The Project:

    Bring Back the Village

“It takes a village to raise a child" is a common saying. But where is that village today?

Many parents today raise children largely alone. Families live far from relatives, both parents often work, and internationally mobile families may have no network nearby at all. For society, parental isolation is linked to stress, burnout, and pressure on children’s well-being, and it is a growing concern in a mobile, busy, and aging society. In an international region like Maastricht, many young families live far from their own relatives.

P4P is built on the belief that parents need a “village” again, but we do not yet know which kinds of support matter most, for whom, and how a platform can help parents build that support, online and offline.

We would like the PREMIUM team to find out what a village means for parents today, to research what type of support modern parents really need, and to design an innovative and realistic way to help them build their own village, online or offline. You decide the approach: it could become a community concept, a local pilot, a new platform feature, or a campaign.

For P4P, the village is the core of our mission, the P4P Hub, and our upcoming #bringbackthevillage campaign, currently in development. Grounding that promise in evidence and turning it into something that works in practice strengthens our impact on families and gives our message credibility with parents, partners, and investors.

What we offer: a real mission with social impact, direct collaboration with our co-founder, access to our parent community in the Netherlands and Brazil, and the chance to see your solution put into practice in a small, international team that gives you real ownership.

  • The Client:

Parents4Parents (P4P) is a Dutch-Brazilian parenting platform based in the Netherlands, built on one belief: parents raise children better when they are not doing it alone. We create practical parenting content for an international audience and recently launched the P4P Hub, a membership platform with courses, a library, and a community for parents. We are currently developing our public campaign #bringbackthevillage, which will invite parents to rebuild the support network that modern family life has made rare. We are a lean, international and entrepreneurial team, and we enjoy giving Maastricht University students real responsibility and room to grow.

A mix of research-minded and creative, design-minded students would be ideal. Dutch, Portuguese, Spanish or Italian are a plus for engaging with our international community. We want to join key brainstorms, share our audiences' insights and open doors to our community and experts, while leaving the direction of the solution to the students.
